I GOT DA KEYZ!!!!
My house completed on friday and I picked up the keys friday afternoon - YES! Gonna move in next weekend, not started packing yet though - FOOK! Moved a couple of things in on Saturday, just what I could fit in me Placky Surgeon van. Ventured over to Ikea Sat evening coz I got an urge to buy kitchenware May have gone a bit overboard in buying loads of crockery and glasses though, the bill came to £120 But from past history you can never have too many glasses and crocks. With the amount of entertaining I do they'll be needed. Still need to buy a bit more furniture for the lounge and a phat LCD TV.

I have finally reached one of my ultimate longterm goals - I now have my very own Des Res, yes Chrissy Boy has brought himself a house! Still a few things to be sorted out, as always, which I hope are not going to go tits up. All being well, I shall very soon upsticks from my rented abode in unaffordable M21 to the much more affordable M19 (Levenshulme). Its probably the only decent affordable area left in South Manchester, an area I've always liked. Gotta say, the house I've purchased is class, it was only the 3rd house I viewed. Think I was quite lucky to have my offer accepted as there was alot of interest, managed to get 2K off the asking price @ 105K. The fact I'm a first time buyer clinched the deal as others had offered full asking price but would not have the quick turnaround I could achieve. The house is a mid terrace, totally refurbished and immaculate throughout (jeez I sound like an estate agent). It was done up by a property developer, who purchased it for a friend emigrting from Australia, whom won't be doing so for another six months now so the house is mint and unlived in its current condition. The street seems nice, not much of a back garden but it backs onto a really nice playing field.

A few piccies...

I shall be adding my own mark of course and will post some more pics after the move.

Jeez! Its been soooooooooo long since I last updated my Xanga. Work is keeping me busy and socialising at the weekends leaves me little time to sit down and write updates.

So wots been happening since the last update?...From what I can recall, plenty of drunken nights, getting stranded in Manchester's redlight district with my bezza mate, a couple of amazing parties, cross dressing and a brush with the law. I won't go into details for all of the above.

About two weeks ago Choryn and Nicolla hired a cottage in Wales for the week, for their joint bday celebrations. On the first weekend, several close friends and I went along to stay for the 80's theme party planned for the Saturday. In the weeks running up to the bash I built up my collection of 80's records considerably and scoured ebay, charity shops and vintage stores for a suitable outfit. The whole weekend was one of the best we all had for a long time. The cottage was huge including 7 bedrooms, a games room and a large conservatory which became our disco area for the night where, between Tom and I, we played a 9hr 80's set comprising of pop, soul, hip-hop, italian disco, house and techno. Tunes of the evening for me were;
Evelyn King - "Love come down"
Pointer Sisters - "Automatic"
Carly Simon - "Why"
Gary Numan - "Music for chameleon's"
Mantronix - "Rush"
and the Ghostbusters theme tune - Class!

Everyone came up trumps on the attire. As each person came down the stairs to reveal their outfit I was in fits of laughter. Best had to be Jeff who hired a Boy George outfit, which proved to be exceptional value for money, as we discovered that by dropping the wig supplied to cover his chin, he bacame a Rabi thus creating a 2in1 costume - Genius! Being in the middle of no where, we cranked up the volume and partied...well...like it was 1985. I even sustained a back injury and grazes to my elbows from attempts at breakdancing.

It shall be a while until this party is topped amongst our group of friends. The Bentley Rd three have a lot to follow with the 2 Turntables and a BBQ 2 party this summer.

More pics of the 80's party can be found here - http://public.fotki.com/Chorlton-Heights/

I'm now back from the two weeks of training for new job down in the deep south of blighty. Not quite as many rednecks as I was expecting, infact most people I met were quite sound but then again they weren't born and bred there...or shall I say born inbred?...I did come across a few people that made me wonder if their family tree was more like a stump. Had a really good time whilst I was there, hotel was good, food was decent enough and the four others on the course with me were really sound people. I usually have quite a cynical attitude towards new work colleagues when starting jobs, I tend not to get too close towards them, I have plenty of my own friends and don't usually play with the people I work with as a rule. Its an attitude that's worked out quite well for me in previous jobs coz most colleagues have turned out to be a right bunch of F'ing C's, so its been quite refreshing to meet some workmates whom I've hit it off with straightaway (my cynicism is slowly dying perhaps?). In particular I got on really well with Dave and Lindy, he used to be a breakdancer back in the 80's apparently in the 3rd best break crew in the country at the time making appearances on tele. Lindy is an adorable, mad as fuck girl from Edinburgh, a fine bit of eye candy and just the right person I needed to cross my path at that point in time - I must be developing a knack for attracting attention from girls who are getting pissed off with their boyfriends...encounters like this turn out to be fun but frustrating at the same time...like a rubiks cube!!!

So I'm now out and about working as a Plastic Surgeon and loving it. I'm out this week with my mentor/team leader then I'll be left to fend for myself. I'm finding the work quite easy as its well within my skills, however we did get pushed quite hard on the traing course by the patronising, anal, mini hitler we had as a tutor who did things so meticulously and has a rediculous attention to detail that just isn't necessary, we started to lose patience towards the end. Its great to finally be employed in job you enjoy, its something I've struggled to find since begining my working career aside from going down the self employment route. Thankfully I no longer have the financial worries that being solely self employed brings and furthermore its really good to be back in a routine of getting up for work at a reasonable hour and not have all the distractions of working from home.

Not that I've ever been one to participate in the loved up bullshit we know as valentines day, but I shall not be going to any expense this year after blowing it with Vicki recently. Being too keen or her being on the rebound to blame, possibly both, I'm left a little confused by this one seeing as it seemed to be going so well. Shame, coz I saw potential there, yet somehow I get the feeling its not quite over...

That's a negative so right now I need two positives - one to cancel out the negative and one...well...to feel positive agian (as Alan Partridge would say)...

Positive 1; Its also my bday tomorrow. Still on the right side of 30 @ 28, I did all my bday celebrating at the weekend with a few select chums. A doule whammy infact as we went out on Friday to celebrate Carl's birthday - just a few drinks in town to get us suitably inebriated. Saturday we went out to Didsbury for my bash with a meal at LaTasca where we were forced to have the 'party menu' which was overpriced for what you get, nice enough food though. Drinks around various pubs in Didsbury to follow, a little too crowded in most venues but we had fun.

Positive 2; I start training for my new job next Monday down in Devon. I'm excited about it but I've had far too many bad experiences with trains to look forard to the 6 hour journey with Virgin on Sunday. Thankfully I'm not paying for it though. I shall be there for the first 2 days of next week, drive back in my new van (woohoo!) on Tuesday night, then go out with a mentor for the rest of the week to observe, then back down to Devon for week 2 & 3 - should be good!

This week will be the final week The Titch and I shall be together. I've decided to give her to my Mom to take care of, mainly because I'm no longer going to be in the house all day and I'm hoping doing so will provide my Mom with enough enjoyment to bring her out of the depression she's been suffering for sometime. I shall miss that cat, we have a good bond and she has been a great companion - surprising coz I used to fucking hate cats!

In the house at the moment we have an additional temporary housemate. Chris, a friend of ours, well, more a friend of Tom's than Alex and I although Tom hasn't known him all that long, has taken refuge at ours whilst he looks for new accomodation after walking out on his psycho girlfriend. Sure it was only going to be a couple of days we were told, he's been here for 3 weeks now. He's a nice enough guy but I've never really had the time for him to be honest, reason being he talks too much! He talks when you really don't want him to at the most inapropriate times such when we're watching a film. The other day I had a perticularly strenuous time blowing some cash on new clobber in town to return home to have him talk to me about car insurance for 10 minutes as soon as I walked through the door. I've been patient thus far, he's left his GF and 2 year old kid coz she has been such a mentalist apparently, I've never met her but I kinda lose sympathy for him for a very valid reason, which is this...Standby coz this still remains one of the maddest stories I ever heard! - I'll try to keep it short...

Chris used to regularly go to a weekly trance night in Manchester called Tangled, infact he got a residency DJing there for sometime. This is also where he met his aforementioned GF. They met for the 1st time whilst both pilled up, hit it off straightaway, he proposed to her in the chill out room and she said yes...WTF!!!...Wait, it gets more rediculous...After leaving the club @ 6am, in god knows what state, he rang his dad to tell him the news. His dad was thrilled by this and said he would drive down straight away from Newcastle to congratulate them both in person. A few hours later he shows up, Chris and GF still awake and on comedown from earlier, then have to entertain his Dad and celebrate the engagement. UNBELIEVEABLE!!! The wedding never happened, but he did get her up the duff a short while after, then moved into a house together...

So I lose sympathy coz...well...do I need to explain this one?

I guess that's actually 3 negatives this month then? So I'm gonna need four more positives...
